Students have been urged to do Productive things during the long holidays to help develop a sense of social responsibility and empathy.

According to the Lira University Vice Guild President Sarah Peace Acen, students should maximize their long vacation period by engaging in doing productive activities that can help their parents and the entire community.

She made the remarks during the How do you do it programe on Voice of the Gospel FM on Tuesday 5/12/2023.
Acen said, this period of time should not be wasted playing games, eating and sleeping, but rather, utilize it in achieving a lot of goals for their future through revising their books, learning new skills, engaging in holiday coaching, getting temporary jobs, starting up a business, doing home chores and getting additional qualifications as well.

The break after the third term session which mostly falls between the end of November to the beginning of February marks the long vacation, and the end of the long vacation ushers successful students to a new class.
And for this, she said, students are given the time to rest, refuel and prepare for the next session while teachers are also able to relax and prepare for another academic year.
Parents, have also been urged to cherish their children and always learn to support them in every steps of life they follow.
