The Chairman of Kole District Local Government, Andrew Moses Awany, was recently involved in an accident along the Lira-Kamdini highway.

The incident occurred at Apii Trading Centre when Awany lost control of his Toyota Mazda BT-50 4*4 Silver and overturned.
According to SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga Region Police Spokesperson, the police were informed and traffic officers from Kole Police station visited the scene.
The victim was promptly rushed to a nearby health facility for first aid, and the motor vehicle was towed to Lira-City West Division Police Station pending IOV inspection.

Okema assured the public that the victim is out of danger and receiving medical attention.
He emphasized the importance of extra caution during the busy festive season as Christmas and the New Year approach.
As investigations continue, he said further details will be shared with the public, and has however, wished Awany a speedy recovery and urged everyone to stay safe on the roads during this holiday season.
