There were moments of anxiety at Ngetta Mission after a fire razed down a building, causing damages of all items in the room including money worth 5 million Shs meant to buy food items and payment of workers. However, the value of other items is yet to be established by the management.

According to the North Kyoga Region Police Spokesperson SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, fire cought a building of 9 rooms belonging to the Catholic Diocese of Lira being used as residence for the Nuns.
The fire brigade and rescue services attached to North Kyoga region on receipt of information, responded to the scene and extinguished fire from spreading to other rooms.
Okema said, cause of the fire is under investigation, though preliminary findings indicates short circuit.
He has however, applauded the management for timely reporting as well as quick response by the police fire team.
The fire incident becomes the 3rd in North Kyoga within a week.
Okema, now reminds members of the public that, it’s already dry season hence they need to observe the weather carefully and report in time for quick response.
