Two suspects accused of Aggravated Littering and Conspiracy to commit an offense have pleaded guilty, while two others remain at large.

The individuals who appeared before Grade one Magistrate Jonathan Wamimbi in Lira City on May 15, 2024 are Silvesto Bunga, a 53-year-old owner of the God is Able drug shop and an honorable councilor representing Eastern “A” ward, as well as his son Samuel Odongo, a 23-year-old Nursing Assistant residing in Te-gweng Cell, Eastern “A” Alito Town Council.

Both pleaded guilty to the charges and were fined Shs 200,000 each, totaling Shs 400,000. Warrants of arrest have been issued for Ezekiel Ocul, a staff, and Judith Amuge, the registered nurse whose medical papers are being used to operate the Drug Shop.
The Lira City Council spokesperson has issued a stern warning against illegal waste dumping, emphasizing the importance of maintaining cleanliness in the city.
