The UPDF recruitment team now in Lira city have arrested nine potential candidates with fake national identification cards and academic papers.

Ahmad Hassan Kato UPDF 4 Infantry Division public information officer for Team Six says during the vetting of the candidates and verification of their academic documents, five candidates from Lira district were arrested with fake Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) Transcripts and fake National identification cards.
He said four others from Lira city were equally caught with fake UCE result slips and certificates.
The suspects were handed over to Lira City Central Police Station for further investigations and management.
UPDF National Recruitment Team Six was at Akii Bua Stadium to recruit candidates who had initially applied and were shortlisted by the UPDF to Join the forces.

Kato said the team recruited the shortlisted candidates from Lira city and Lira district on Sunday, June 7, 2024, and on Monday, the team will recruit candidates from Alebtong and Otuke at the same venue.
Team Six will later proceed to recruit candidates from the districts of Dokolo, Amolatar, Kaberamaido, Kalaki, Apac, Kwania and Oyam districts between July 9 and July 13, 2024, as per the quotas allotted to each district based on the recent census statistics.
The participants were later engaged in physical body examinations for body deformities by the medical team and thereafter, they were subjected to a two-kilometre run in the stadium to examine their physical fitness abilities.
Team Six has finalised the recruitment of candidates from Adjumani, Gulu city, Gulu district, Omoro, Nwoya, Amuru, Kitgum, Lamwo, Pader, and Agago districts, and the recruitment exercise ends on July 14, 2024, as per the UPDF timetable.
