The Pader District Education department has submitted at least 26 community schools which were opened in Pader district to address the congestion and long distances from homes to school.
Fearless Obwoya Oyat, the Pader District LC V chairperson said Pader district recently approved 26 community schools and submitted for Coding/ Grant-Aiding by the Ministry of Education and Sports in the financial year 2024/2025.
Obwoya said if the 26 community schools which were opened in Pader district are coded by the ministry of Education, it will help to address the congestion and long distances movement of Pupils from homes to school.
Phillip Ojok Obalim, the Pader district secretary Education said late last month Pader district received a letter from the ministry of education saying that ten schools will be granted government aid in the financial year 2024/2025 after receiving the fund.
He said that his officer is following the matter to know which of the schools among the 26 that was submitted for coding will be granted.
Pader district has 107 and 10 government aided Primary and secondary schools respectively, two government skill development institutions. To date a total of 104,293 are benefiting from UPE out of which 58, 545 are boys and 52,685 are girls.
