The Lira City Education Officer, Dr. Jasper Abura has died in a road accident on the Lira-Dokolo highway near Adwila in the wee hours of Friday, September 27, 2024.
The senior educationist was with the Deputy Town Clerk Emmanuel Komakech and the driver, both of whom survived but sustained injuries and are now receiving treatment at Lira Regional Referral Hospital.

The accident occurred while Dr. Abura was returning to Lira from Kampala in a Toyota Isuzu pickup belonging to the City’s Education Department.
According to reports, the accident happened around 1:AM, when their vehicle was reportedly hit by an on-coming trailer.
