President Yoweri Museveni has made a significant pledge to support local journalists in the Lango Sub-region.
During a meeting with media representatives, he announced a donation of 100 million shillings to support the Lango Journalists SACCO and pledged to provide a bus to ease their transportation challenges.

The President encouraged journalists to utilize their platforms to promote wealth creation and amplify the government’s efforts to combat poverty.
He also emphasized the importance of continued infrastructure development, even as the government remains focused on wealth creation and securing peace in the region.

During his tour, President Museveni visited the Lango Presidential Industrial Skilling Hub, where he expressed satisfaction with the positive response from parents and the community towards the free skills training initiative.
He revealed plans to expand the curriculum to include motor mechanics, plumbing, and electrical installation, ensuring a wider base of skills for the youth in the region.

The President also commended the region for its progress, particularly in electricity provision, and praised the role of the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) in disarming the Karamojong, leading to peace and stability in Lango, Acholi, and Teso sub-regions.
