Dr. Col. John Francis Ongia, a parliamentary aspirant for Kioga County, has taken a significant step towards addressing the water scarcity issue in his constituency.
On March 4, 2025, he visited Aceng-Oryema village and Namasale Primary School, where he spent over UGX 3.7 million to repair broken boreholes and restore access to clean water.

This initiative comes as a huge relief to the residents, who have been struggling to access safe drinking water for years.
Many had resorted to using unsafe sources, putting their health at risk.
The residents, including Angela Oyo and David Odora, shared their experiences and frustrations, highlighting the dire need for clean water in the area.

Dr. Ongia’s efforts have brought hope to the community, and his commitment to improving water access aligns with his broader vision of addressing pressing community challenges in Kioga County. The residents are grateful for the initiative and hope for continued support to maintain the boreholes and prevent future breakdowns.

This is not Dr. Ongia’s first initiative to support the community.
He has previously restored access to clean water in other areas, including Muntu Township and Amirimiri Ward, where he spent over UGX 2 million to repair two crucial boreholes.
His efforts demonstrate his dedication to improving the lives of the people in his constituency.
